Caramel Scone Recipe

The caramel muffin recipe is a favorite. Butterscotch chips give it taste good, be sure to find it in the great chain of coffee shops.

Ingredients

3 cups unbleached flour

1 / 2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into pieces

1 cup plus 2 tablespoons half and half or light cream

1 / 3 cup sugar

1 / 2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 large egg

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cupbutterscotch baking chips

Topping:

1 / 3 cup butterscotch chips cooked, finely chopped (use food processor)

1 egg, lightly beaten

Powdered sugar (optional)

Hardware

Whip

Medium bowl

Large bowl

Oil paper

Trays

Pastry blender (optional)

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.

Step 2: Line baking tray with baking paper.

Step 3: Cut a large bowl of cold butter with pastry blender or knifeinto flour, combine with your fingers to a coarse meal consistency.

Step 4: Whisk together sugar, baking powder and salt in a mixture.

Step 5: In a bowl, whisk together cream, egg and vanilla sugar.

Step 6: Place the cream mixture into flour mixture.

Step 7: Mix a couple of times, then add butterscotch chips. Stir until just below the dough together.

Step 8: large drop spoonfuls of batter on prepared baking sheet.

Step 9: Brush each scone withwith EEG-white.

Step 10: Upper floor with butterscotch chips.

Step 11: Bake until golden brown, 16-18 minutes.

Step 12: Remove from oven and cool slightly, sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.

The recipe makes 18 muffins caramel scones.
